A 46-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering his partner at a house in Edinburgh. Lee Greenan is accused of killing Vikki Soloman, 44, during a disturbance at a property in Craigievar Square, in the city's East Craigs area, on Monday evening.

Emergency services were called to the house at approximately 20:45. Crews found Soloman with serious injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Greenan was arrested and later charged.

Greenan appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday. He made no plea to a charge of murder and two charges of assault. The court remanded him in custody. He is due to appear again within eight days.

Police Scotland confirmed the charge and the court appearance. STV News reported that Soloman was an aesthetician and that Greenan is her ex-partner.

The case has drawn attention to domestic violence and the legal process in Scotland. Greenan's next court date will determine whether the case proceeds to a higher court for trial. The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service will lead the prosecution. No further details about the alleged assault charges have been released.

Vikki Soloman's family has not made a public statement. The community in East Craigs has been left in shock. Local residents described the area as quiet and expressed surprise at the incident.

This case is one of several recent murder charges in Scotland. The legal system will now process the evidence and determine the next steps. The presumption of innocence applies until a verdict is reached.
